  30 is the traditional age of maturity, according to the bible. Numbers4:3 is often cited and of course Jesus being 30 before he starts his ministry.

  I don't care how 'mature' a jw in his early 20s may seem, or how much preaching he has done, you simply have not been through enough sh1t to give practical advice to an adult going through serious problems. At best, you could give someone a pep talk, but anyone can do that. Even if you have had a tough time growing up and had adverse experiences, you need years after that to process and learn from what you have been through, in order to help others.

  At that age, you would be embarrassing yourself.

  wow... only 100 million years from the big bang.

  that is pretty early given the 12 billion year age of the universe assigned by scholars who adhere to naturalism.

  waton, yes, just like the depictions of paradise, where, according to WT leadership, highly educated people wont be needed, but mainly hard working tradesman to build the new world.

  Apparently, physics have changed in the future and engineers and architects are no longer required.

  Im not an expert by any means. My understanding is that the universe is racing apart, outwards, like a balloon expanding, until eventually, everything has become so far apart, if we were to look up into the night sky, we would be alone, and nothing would be there.

  Genesis doesnt explain it any better, in fact, it reads like any other creation myth from anywhere on earth:

  'In the beginning, God created the Earth and the Sky.......', ' He created light before the Sun and stars'....., 'vegetation before the Sun'.

  i saw an other thread about what the wt says who or what gog is.. my speculation is based on the following:.

  in the end un will get the power for a short while, as taught in the wt literature.

  this is based on revelation 17:12-14: "the ten horns that you saw mean ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings for one hour with the wild beast.

  I was talking to an old, still in friend the other day and he mentioned this new understanding of Gog and Magog, although he didnt explain it to me. So whether he personally understood, or cared about it is another story.

  Its simply classic WT tactics to distract the average JW for a bit longer, another carrot to dangle- a reason to talk about how the organisation is moving along and obviously signifies how close the end must be.

  Re-introduce a mysterious concept from the bible that is shrouded in obscurity, that may or may not point to the end times and the apocolypse, or it may just be a story that applied to a localised area that has long since occured. or, because it is in Revelation, may be an analogy.

  From the time of Josephus until now, no one really knows who it applies to, and probably because of that, it has been applied to so many different places and people.

  Where I grew up, girls were strongly encouraged to only marry a guy if he was over 20, pioneering and a M. S.

  It was definitely a status symbol for some sisters to get a husband that matched that criteria.

  but no year in the past compares to 2021. as of sept. 16, roughly 1,400 new satellites have already begun circling the earth, and that will only increase as the year goes on.

  just this month, spacex deployed another 51 starlink satellites into orbit.. right now, there are nearly 6,000 satellites circling our tiny planet.

  Maybe its too early for anyone to say definitively yet.

  I still question how people willingly accept figures from India, a country that is rife with corruption, yet ignore their own country, its almost like they have a pre-conceived idea that they desperately want to be true.

  As far as my lived experience, my state had a maximum if 700-ish cases a day during the first wave, when no one was vaxxed , by September 2020, about people 800 had died from covid, according to official figures.

  During the delta wave of 2021, we have had a further 400-500 deaths despite having daily case numbers of 1200- 2000. During this time, people were getting vaccinated. If you believe the official figures, the vast majority of deaths were unvaxxed.

  The only way we are going to know for sure is time.

  I'm just a little tired of people trying to prove that only ivermectin works by citing 'proof' from countries where reporting is hard to quantify, when all they have to do is take note of their lived experience in their home country.

  How many times do we have to hear about an Indian state called Uttar Pradesh beating the virus with ivermectin only? Even if all they actually used was ivermectin, anecdotal evidence, even from doctors is not good enough to prove anything. It's like most other viral sicknesses, some will recover regardless of treatment, some will die regardless of treatment and some will fall in between the two.

  Simon, speaking from my experience right here in Australia, the number of cases have come down. Apart from Melbourne, Australia is virtually covid free. Sydney has beaten the delta wave with lockdown and vaccines. Im not sure why you insist that isn't the case by saying the figures don't show that.
